TICKET STRUCTURE

We want to get value from our 10-cent superfecta bets and value begins when we can separate ourselves from the betting public.  How do we separate ourselves from the betting public?  The answer is simple through ticket structure.  We must avoid betting the combinations that the public is betting.  The betting public has no problem pouring money into combinations that have a very low expected return.

We want to structure our tickets so that we get at least a 10/1 minimum return on any
10-cent superfecta bet that we hit.  (For example, if you invest $6.00 in 10-cent superfecta betting combinations in a race, you should structure you ticket so that you will be paid back at least $60.00 if you have a winning combination.)  10-cent superfectas are not that easy to hit, so when you do hit one you want to get paid.  If you demand at least 10/1, then you only need to hit just once out of every ten to break even.  Hit more often and you will show a nice profit.

If you are not regularly getting at least a 10/1 return on your 10-cent superfecta winning bets, then it might be worth your while to try adjusting your ticket structure.  The single most important factor that determines what a 10-cent superfecta will pay is where the betting favorite finishes in a race  The lower the betting favorite finishes in a race the higher the payoff.

One way to increase your expected return is to adjust your ticket structure and only use the favorite in the 3rd and 4th positions.  (Remember, the favorite finishes 1st or 2nd only about 50% of the time.)  If you feel the favorite is going to win, another way to increase your expected return is to separate the favorite from the next two betting choices.  If you are going to use the favorite in the 1st position do not use either of the next two betting choices in the 2nd position.

These are just a couple of suggestions on how to you can get more value from your
10-cent superfecta winning bets by adjusting your ticket structure and by being more creative in the way you use the betting favorite.
